"Mihai Eminescu" High School is well known for its tradition and for the high aspirations of the one22b.jpg who work very hard on its premises. Built in 1684, it was initially a general school, which later on became a royal catholic gymnasium - gymnasium regime, then a boys` theoretic high school, finally becoming in the year 2000, like a sign of appreciation for the place it occupies in the top notch Romanian education, a National High School, with about 930 students and 62 teachers, which develop their activities in a place found in permanent modernization. Although in the past the high school was considered to be a fortress of the accurate sciences, in present time there are high preoccupations and achievements in all areas of discipline.

The impressive establishment was named after our national poet, hoping that he would last in our memory for ever, as the greatest figure of Romanian poetry, and that our school would be the most important pillar and culture focus in our region.
"Mihai Eminescu" National High School is actually a big family propagated in time and space with hard to define limits. Always maintaining the balance between tradition and modernistic, the students, their teachers and all their partners try to maintain the statute of a standard-high school. Its graduates honor the "family" as choice students, as specialist in different domains, as institution managers, as political personalities or as well known teachers in different schools or colleges. There are families who passed through this high school generation by generation, and they all have the same praiseworthy words for their teachers.
